Sri Lanka 10 Day Itinerary: The Complete First-Time Visitor Tour

Why 10 Days is the Ideal Sri Lanka Tour Length

The 10 day Sri Lanka itinerary is our single most recommended tour for first-time visitors. Ten days is long enough to experience Sri Lanka's three defining regions — the ancient Cultural Triangle in the north, the misty hill country in the centre and the wildlife parks and beaches of the south — without feeling rushed at any single destination.

This itinerary includes the highlights that make Sri Lanka unlike anywhere else in Asia: climbing Sigiriya Rock Fortress at sunrise, riding the train through tea plantations above the clouds, hiking in Ella, going on a private jeep safari in Yala National Park and walking the ramparts of Galle's UNESCO-listed Dutch fort. All of it private, at your own pace, with your own driver-guide throughout.

This 10 day route is particularly popular with travellers from the UK, Australia and Germany who have around two weeks of holiday and want a rich, end-to-end Sri Lanka experience before a beach finale.
